When I first started dating, I went on two dates a weekend for over a year without even getting a kiss.
Not kidding.
I was a virgin, painfully hesitant, and I had no idea how to escalate. I was that guy who just hoped something magical would happen—but never made a move.
That changed after my first kiss turned into my first lay. From that day on, I made a promise: I would always go for the kiss on a date.

She was a gorgeous Hollywood woman, and we went on not one, but two dates where I just couldn’t find the right moment.
She was bubbly, full of energy, never still long enough for a proper kiss. After the second date, I was kicking myself—again.
But one of the guys at Project Hollywood gave me an insane idea: call her back and create the moment myself.
I did.
She turned her car around.
I walked up, leaned in, said, “We talked a lot today. We talked too much . . .” and I kissed her. It worked—and yeah, I never heard from her again. But it gave me a critical realization:
You don’t wait for the perfect moment to kiss. You manufacture it.
And from that point on, I became obsessed with creating my own moments.
Sometimes I’d say, “What would you do if I kissed you right now?”
Other times I’d tease, “You’re probably a terrible kisser anyway.” It wasn’t about the line—it was about shifting the energy.
I started obsessing over my mistakes, too.
After every date or approach, I’d lie on my dorm bed and mentally replay key moments, imagining alternate paths and scripting better outcomes.
That mental rehearsal turned one rep into dozens. Creativity grew. Confidence followed.
