A lot of people in the dating space talk about entitlement in a positive way. But entitlement has a dark side, too.
The good kind of entitlement—the kind that pushes you to take action and stand up for yourself—is necessary.
Most guys are too timid, playing not to lose instead of playing to win. They need to embrace this form of entitlement to take more risks and create better results.
Negative entitlement, however, is when people demand things without offering anything in return.
It’s when they lack empathy, treat others like objects, and expect special treatment just because they exist.
I’ve seen this firsthand—from people screaming at me for not adding them on Facebook to students physically dragging me out of sets because they felt I wasn’t giving them enough attention.
These people don’t understand that relationships, whether romantic or professional, are about value exchange—not handouts.
The key difference between positive and negative entitlement comes down to worldview.
Do you believe in earning what you get, or do you think you deserve things just for showing up? Do you see people as individuals with their own feelings, or as resources to be exploited?
Nobody owes you anything. Your social capital is zero until you prove it to be more.
True entitlement isn’t about being demanding—it’s about bringing value.
If you consistently help others and provide something meaningful, you won’t have to take—people will offer it willingly.
Success, in dating or in life, comes to those who earn it.
