Today I watched someone die

Today, I experienced something shocking — a man died right in front of me.

While running on the beach, my girlfriend and I saw a lifeless body pulled from the water.

What struck me was the speed with which people resumed their prior activities. Bystanders on the beach almost immediately returned to business as usual.

It made me realize how fleeting life is and how easy it is for any of us to become a mere footnote in someone else’s day.

This moment was a reminder that significance isn’t granted just by existing.

Our legacy is shaped by our actions, by the difference we make while we’re here.

The man who died could have been anyone—and he probably thought he’d live a long life, had plans for the future, and suddenly, everything was cut short.

It’s a stark reminder that life doesn’t come with guarantees.

We plan for decades ahead, yet everything could change in an instant.

What also stood out was how long it took for professional help to arrive — seven minutes with only bystanders attempting CPR.

It made me realize that no one is guaranteed to rescue us when things go wrong.

We often think someone will be there to protect us, but in reality, we are our own first line of defense.

We must take responsibility for our lives and be prepared to act, whether it’s in moments of crisis or while pursuing our goals.

This experience was a call to action — to live purposefully, take charge of our own lives, and strive to leave a meaningful legacy.

For the man who died today, I hope his life was as full as it could be.

Let his story serve as a reminder to seize the day, protect ourselves, and chase our dreams relentlessly.
